Sydney startup Sonder
reinvents the keyboard

Sonder introduces an effortless smart keyboard experience that has never been possible before.

Sydney — Sonder today introduced the Sonder keyboard, an innovative new wireless keyboard that uses advanced technology to reinvent how we connect to computers, browse the internet, play games and interact on social media providing a wireless adaptive interface not possible before. The Sonder keyboard can show any language, any shortcuts or custom icons. Users can work faster, work smart empowered by infinite possibilities right at your fingertips.

Sonder’s magic lies in it’s E Ink display whose display technology powers Kindle. These are customisable to any keyboard layout as well as application-specific – you can customise these with hotkeys, macros and shortcuts. The keyboard pairs automatically with a Mac, PC, tablet, or even a phone – revolutionising the way you connect with technology. With a comfortable and precise typing experience and a crisp, responsive patented key mechanism, you’ll want to use the Sonder keyboard all day every day and even at night. Sonder’s front lighting (with advanced fibre optic waveguide) with let you work through the night or finish working in a studio. Sonder will release later this year.

Sonder’s fibre optic front light makes working faster and smarter easier in the dark.

Sonder was founded by twin brothers Felipe and Francisco Serra-Martins in Sydney Australia. With the help from an Australian Government grant they designed and patented their innovative product which impressed Foxconn executives and earned their invitation to join their Beijing Accelerator.

Sonder has officially partnered with Foxconn International Holdings (FIH), the world’s largest contract manufacturer and E Ink Holdings. Sonder is also cooperating with Foxconn to develop their Sonder laptop keyboard module and is currently in discussions to integrate its technology into hundreds of thousands of laptops.

“We’re incredibly excited to showcase our technology later this month at Foxconn’s Innoconn demo day in Zhongguancun – the response from the Chinese market has been absolutely incredible” said Sonder founder and CEO Francisco Serra-Martins. 

Pricing & Availability
The Sonder keyboard is available on the Sonder’s website; with an early bird preorder rate of $199 USD. Sonder will release in Q4 2016 to customers in 42 countries. It will be available at Authorised Resellers, retailing for approximately $299 USD. It can easily connect to computer hardware with a built-in Bluetooth connection or through the fibred USB cable.
